About Norlii and the Nordic Living Style

Nordic Living is a great mix of Scandinavian Design, lots of coziness (hygge), and having nature around you (candlelight, plants, sheepskin, wooden items ect).

Do you know why Norlii is named Norlii? It is a subtraction of "Nordic" and "Living." And Nordic Living is actually what I am curating into the Norlii Box. I want to dig a little deeper into the style in this blog post.

I want to make sure that each Norlii box is a Nordic Living experience as well as a beautiful collection of useful decor and accessories. Each edition of the box builts on previous boxes, so you will acquire the Nordic Living style over time.

Let's take a closer look on the box:

How will the items match over time?

I curate the boxes thematically so that each box has its own theme. I define the items according to the Norlii color palette so that one box builds on and matches the previous ones. That means that you, as a Norlii subscriber, receive items that match one another in style, colors and materials over time. That way, you will experience that your home increasingly acquires a Nordic look and feel.

As you know, if you are a subscriber, it's not all about the products you'll get in the box. It is as much about those experiences that come along. Beyond the Scandinavian-designed decor items themselves, a Norlii box will bring you a taste of some Scandinavian traditions and lifestyle elements, such as hygge, lagom, fika, and many more. We have had Nordic Baths, Nordic Simplicity, and even Get-Togethers with a Scandinavian twist in previous boxes (You can find all of these and more described in previous blogposts). So more often than not, a Norlii Box will also contain some Scandinavian snacks, candles, or other consumables that you can use to create a fuller Scandinavian experience that touches several senses.

A Norlii subscription is also inspiration to new experiences

In addition to your subscription we also have a members' store. Here you can acquire additional matching decor and accessories. Say you get two cups in a box that you really love, but you need four, well, you will be able to buy additional ones in the store.

I am very fortunate and proud that the loyalty of Norlii subscribers is exceptionally high. Several of our lovely subscribers have been with us ever since the early days in 2018 🧡. Maybe some of our treasured longtime subscribers have regifted items they have received over time. That means the sphere of people knowing Norlii is widened, and Nordic Living, which I love so much, is getting out there.

Colors

The Norlii color palette focuses on these four basic colors: grey, white, coal, beige but sometimes also a splash of muted rose or soft blue. You will see subscribers that love the very simple color palette for their entire home, while others add them to their own style as the colors will be easy to incorporate into any home.

The Nordic style favors earthy accents and natural materials

Materials

I include decor that is durable and timeless. The materials will typically (but not always) be natural, like stoneware, wood, linen, cotton, seagrass, etc. It is often organic, and you will rarely find items made of plastic in a Norlii box. And although a box will typically have a theme that somehow connects to the season, the pieces will work across seasons.

The Brands and design

I pick items from renowned Scandinavian/Nordic brands and designers. Some of the brands we work with are Normann Cph, Broste, Vipp, Dream of Sweden, Marimekko, Zone Denmark, House Doctor. The list is growing, and all of these brands represent modern Scandinavian interior style.

Please take a look at some of our other blog posts. If you wish to see previous boxes, I have sorted the blogposts about boxes in "previous boxes."

All the best,

Linda
